I could

I could

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

another meandering afterthought

"
I could
let it go
like I did
a million times
before
in another life
when I was
another wife --

I could
pretend
because I
don't want it
to end ...

but I
owe it
to the woman
I was
and the one
I want to be
to tell you
even if
you didn't
mean to
                                   you hurt me.

and if you
decide
to get off
the ride
before
it's really
begun
it doesn't
matter
                           you didn't see me.

sometimes personal can get a bit overdone...it's, well, personal....and while it might be relatable, the danger is that you end up too much in your own world....which is fine (and sometimes even a good thing), but ultimately, hard to relate to.......

this is not that. this is good. the timing, the compactness, the succinct nature of what you've laid out simply resonates. if you have a pulse, this should resonate. so, yeah, i liked it ;)

If he didn't see you, he doesn't deserve you. Funny how things are easier said than done. Beautiful, KL. xo (:

Thank you for stopping by.
I have to say you are starting to become my favorite...although I do not like playing favorites...but each time I read your work, it just freaking plows into my gut and just leaves me there, not knowing what to even say. This one though, yeah well you have hit home with it and I love it...standing up to be the woman you want and for the woman you once were. What could be more beautiful. Fantastic write!!
