The same

The same

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

sometimes it's the sameness that makes us notice the differences.

"
Today is the same
as any other day
no one to kiss me
goodbye
no one to wish me
luck
no one to take me there,
or help me park the car
so I don't have to walk
eighteen freaking blocks.

Today is the same
as any other day,
except you aren't in the
other room,
snoring and taking up
my space.

       Today is the same
       as any other day,
       but so much
       better.

Thanks for reading and reviewing.
I love this. Easy to relate to. The same, yet different in such a positive way. Beautiful! :)

The relief of living a single life when you were already living that way anyway, exactly.:)
LOL! Now this is one I can relate to - sometimes the same is so much better than what was...

Thanks so much Julie for stopping in.
I agree with the poem. Years ago. My mother complained about watching dear Grandmother. We rotated day. I watched her two day. (I would stop by and ensure she had food and was okay) I told her one day you will miss seeing grandma. One day she would be gone. At the funeral of dear Grandma. Mama cried the most. We need reason and purpose. Love and kindness is what we must know and share. We need people to need us and we need to have people near. Thank you for the thoughts provoking poetry.

You are welcome.
i like the irony of this...the sadness of not having that significant other there...and then ....the gladness of not having that significant other there.

I did too much by myself when I had a "partner". At least now I know I don't have one.
