KL, do you believe that the one you want to be with, share whatever you can with, hold hands with, should be your "friend"?? best friend even... I like how you express the fear of "as long as you're
my friend,
I can pretend
it won't ever end ..." and that's the crux isn't it, that it won't last, and that it will mean mucho pain... and loss of a friend... sometimes I think being a friend is harder than being a lover/partner... friends are special and many go through life without feeling this deeply about someone... I personally don't believe that love can last without real friendship, the kind where there are no secrets and there is the openness of sharing thoughts and goals, where there is mutual respect and even where disagreements strengthen the bonds and not tear them apart... maybe that is just being silly, too old to be nieve.. HA..

anyway, pay me no nevermind KL, these are just some thoughts as I read your poem...and hell yes, it's complicated!!! even saying nothing is complicated... and as far as explanations go, it's a good one... and thanks..

What relationship isn't complicated… I have the hardest time still being friends with ex lovers, it feels wrong going backwards in the relationship, on the other hand when you care so much it is hard to walk away from them.
