my speech

my speech

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

rehearsals in my mind

"
I have it all planned out.
I said the words
a thousand times
in my mind --
my parting speech.

on that day
I will say
the three words
you already knew,
and walk away.

we can plan until the cows come home, but in the heat of the moment, emotions overrule rationality.. that internal struggle that causes that doubt and need to rehearse is what will be the fuel to that fiery fiasco.. I do the same thing.. never ends up like I practice in my head either.. ever.. grrrrr

Lol! Could be. I won't argue with that!
Am glad, I'm not the only one, who struggles with, what I want to say. Even with planning, I seem to trip over my own words, as they abandon me, at my time of need. Sigh.

I am not sure why I find this funny but I do. Best laid plans sort of feeling. I rehearse stuff in my head all day long and when the times come then to implement boom! A twist or the unexpected or the "where dd that come from" stage. Of course you can revel in your melancholy there is no hard there but what manner of cruelt is moving the strings ? Can things just go my way for once?

Thankyou

When it rains over here KL the first few drops land on me .....
A painfully sad piece where the protagonist feels compelled to do somethoing she would rather not. The rehersal needed to convince self but also a symptom of disatisfaction with the bargain between the two where perhaps she feels short changed?
