Love isn't

Love isn't

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

for the poetry challenge on what love is

"
love isn't

a butterfly
to woo --

enrapture
capture
hold
fold

into you --

win
pin
rub
scrub

the powder
off her

till she can't
fly.

love isn't
anything

like you
and I

I feel this one K. Love is not a prison. It's not taking what makes something beautiful away, so that it can never be beautiful again.

Anytime. :) xx
There, you are, you said it and done it now ain't that just cathartic?

Oh' well it felt good to me.

Splendid job you have done here with your highly successful juxtapositioning of fragility and beauty against what could easily be purposefully malicious and cruel or conversely innocent and inadvertent.

There are always consequences and always will be.......N

So tragic when love dies (or, in your case, is gutted by betrayal). You've shared the truth of what Love is not… can never be. But, what is Love? What should it be?

I was taught as a child to handle butterflies with great care
If you rubbed the magic dust from their wings
They would not be able to fly away.

I think this is a sacred message that more of us should learn
And apply to our own life...

Thank you, I appreciate it.
Yeah but in that context one then has to remeber that love cannot be the prduct of enslavement. It should if anything be an instrument for growth, so no party would be expected to sacrifice the ability to give or receive for the sake of beholding love. On the other hand some relationships KL thrive upon the fact that although what they have knowingly is not love they still feel such dependency for one another that in the insuffeciency of their own creation they still endure years and years.

Relationships are very complex indeed.

Thankyou

You are welcome. Of course, Momzilla set the challenge of Love is, so I had to say what it isn't.:)
let it go, and if it comes back....it will still have that powder of love on it...
and your love will have wings.

Yes, I know you do. You are the consummate oxymoron -- a clever man.:)
That is one impressive butterfly write … first off it's original and the craft and word-choic is flawless. Sparse but full of meaning … that's a writer.
