sun on dust

sun on dust

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

when the sun shines just the right way

"

The sun

breaks

across the mourning

as my sorrow spills

over the page ...

You were Everything

and Nothing, to me

The light

illuminates

the floating dust ...

You are Everywhere

and Nowhere, i see.

When the emptiness and loneliness becomes just too apparent...
You create a clear picture of vacant space with this poem, Lyn. Just enough detail given to create the picture at all. Minimal, and affective.
Well done.

it is everywhere-
we don't see it
until the light hits just right
nothing- into something that is on everything

love the song-
love the sentiment-
not sure if i love the dust...
but there is something mysterious about it-
breathing it in and out-

all and nothing... yes

thank you for the kindness.
I love the way you used the unexpected "mourning" to direct the poem into a whole new poem than the one that might have been expected from the title and first lines leading up to the word. It is as if it focuses a spotlight on the meaning and the mood. This is just so amazing to me...how you have crafted the words, and used the floating dust to convey such a deep message. A part of your memories is gone and even though the music remains, as does the dust in the sun, there is nothing solid anymore.
This is so soft and vulnerable . Beautifully done.

PS.I couldn't view the video - says it was removed. Maybe there is another one. Your music choices always add so much. Just a note.

You are welcome my dear friend.
Word play excellent. Sequencing, smashing, yet this is not a mourning song or petit eulogy, it is alive....A fine & princely tribute.............................N
