Backward blue eyed glances

Backward blue eyed glances

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

sometimes we see what we want to, and then again, sometimes not

"

I see you in faces,

Profile smiles and

Backward blue eyed glances

On crowded streets.

I hear your laughter

Playing with the kids

On the trampoline ...

I feel your pain

In every struggle they have,

and pray for wisdom

To change the possibilities ...

I can see you in their eyes,

and that scares me,

Much as I loved you,

Because, we all know,

I will never see you again.

A beautiful, but at the same time harrowing feeling, to remember someone never forgotten, in the simplest of gestures in others. The way they smile, the way they sound or look in a particular moment, catching you unawares and taking you back in time for that briefest, or longest of moments. Beautifully described thoughts and fears KL.

Thank you so much.
Well done, KL. A beautiful description of what is left of life, family and friendship after someone passes. Sorry for your loss.

Thank you. The loss is not recent, only very strong at this time of year. The stages of grief are no.. read more
wow! bitter sweet .. and well said .. a broken relationship healed of the anger in your speaker ... music is outside my comfort zone but had to watch and listen all the way thru ..you know ..creepy but can't take my eyes off it ... :}
being a single parent is not easy ..i can so relate to the anxiety and prayers .. tho when i see their mother (God bless her soul) i am grateful as she was the far better part of them :(
i slipped into the moment in time easily .. actually you expanded it rather seamlessly .. another nice one KL ..
