The "feminist" Prime Minister

Now instructs the female cabinet members

To enter through the opposite door --

To take their rightfully segregated space

As non-participants in the ceremony

Of the leaders great,

While he is hosted by

A terrorist Imam.

This is my country now?

The one where I raise my daughters?

The one where you raise your daughters?

For shame.

Since when did cultural sensitivity include

Embracing segregation of women?

I don't care where you take your shirt off,

But I damned sure care that you think it's okay

To step into a world where a woman cannot go.

I am ticked. The Prime Minister attended a mosque that not only is known to support terrorism, but also segregates women. He could have attended a progressive ceremony. He chose, instead, to have his female cabinet ministers subject themselves to being segregated. Not acceptable. Not in the name of tolerance inside this country. No way.

Our current Prime Minister is an arrogant Ken doll. He tells women he is a feminist. He goes to a mosque that practices Sharia law. He doesn't care. He isn't a woman. What makes me so sad and annoyed is that women's rights isn't about what political party you belong to. These women should have declined to participate in order to effect change. Thanks. In my opinion tolerance is accepting one's right to their beliefs, provided that those beliefs don't threaten basic human rights, which, in my opinion, it is my basic human right to sit down next to a man in any venue I choose within my own country. The fact that me saying this endangers MY LIFE is the reason our elected leaders must never pander to ridiculous and archaic cultural CRAP. Yes, I said it. I am a woman, and I should be able to worship, or not, next to you, if I choose.

I can only hope that his ultimate goal is to influence some of these cultural views that don't align with the views of our liberal nation. If his primary goal is to promote peaceful relationships then maybe he's saving the segregation fight for another day. I don't know. I'm not happy about it so I hope it was a strategic move and not a dumbass move. But for a guy who photobombs wearing no shirt and holding a surf board... There isn't. After looking into it further, he regularly attends radical mosques. I think he thinks it shows how cool and accepting he is. You can't preach pro choice and turn around and pray with the men who would condemn a woman to death for having an abortion. This is unacceptable that our elected PM would shoo his Cabinet Ministers into the side door so they can watch from their expected place, away from the men. People keep confusing cultural accommodation with Religious accommodation. There is a difference. Culture and tradition are fine if they do not offend or contravene your country's laws and morals -- when they do, they need not to be tolerated.

Thanks. The thing that irks me too is that his women MPs went along with it. There's towing the party line, and then there is standing up for what is right. The female MPs should have stood against him on this move. Sharia law is not Canadian law. There are many prominent female Muslims who are outraged at his doing this.
