We remember you as a wee

little lad, sittin' on your papa's knee

while mama put on a big soiree,

for the leading singers of the day,

coming home after midnight, stoned.

You grew up thinking someday

you'd take your daddy's chair,

even then you knew you'd renovate,

and make the peons pay --

ain't democracy so great?

But now the King of Selfies

has hired him a bus,

to do a lot of town halls,

and speak like one of us.

you can't be in it for the money,

of that you have enough.

They say that you're elitist,

you claim that's not your style,

all you want is a meet and greet,

kiss the babies for a while --

thank the rubes that you sucked in.

Any issues you address,

are more about finesse,

dressed in a twinkle and a smile,

it makes the minions question,

your decided lack of class.

My flower (ma fleur), monsieur Prime Minister,

don't you know it's de rigueur

to give an answer

that's not just a token?

and at least a response be given

in the language it was spoken?

i am always amazed how well captcha can read and divine ;)
uncanny strength of parallels between our countries ..i need to pay more attention to yours KL ..i confess all i really have read and heard has been all about your crazy mayor, Rob Ford ..our news people here just don't cover our beautiful neighbors to the north enough .. you collab inspires me to go a googling for your prime minister .. i like the loose form you guys chose ..it gives a feeling of freedom within structure .. so the rhyming that pops up seems like splashes of vibrant colors that artists use so subtly .. its early morning so i say to you both "top o' the mahrnin' to ya! ;)

Thanks. Mayor Ford died of pancreatic cancer. The new mayor is more of Trudeau's ilk. I live outside Toronto, but our little city mayor is a small town tycoon.

An explanation. Ted Kniffen and I are both Canadian. Our Prime Minister decided to hold a tour. On this tour, he held a town hall meeting. A very serious question was asked of him in Quebec, regarding the lack of Mental Health Services delivered in English for the 700,000 Anglophones living in that province. He answered in FRENCH. Even many Francophones were disgusted with his decided lack of decency and arrogance in responding to this very real question in French, simply because he was in Quebec.
