the obstinate moon

a little ditty

the obstinate moon 

rests in sky so blue

can't help it baby,

it reminds of you --

smiling smugly

at the rising sun

attempting to

push through

the morning pink --

and wishing

you were here 

with me

to chase 

away

the day.

There is something special about the 'obstinate moon' , as though she just doesn't want to give way to the rising sun. In the end the moon relents and bides her time for a few hours until she can return.Well done, Lyn.

love your closing ...let that obstinate moon win ..chase the day away ... just to be with "....you...." ;) smooth flowing word painting ... the emotion comfortable and the desire so relatable .. sometimes that moon hangs in there well into afternoon ... a thin veil ... but very present ...
