I hate to rhyme

I hate to rhyme

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

I am not much for strict rules of rhyme and metre. I thought i was just winging it. I didn't know it was a form. As per Richard's review (thank you)

"

She ate her hate,

chewed on debate,

swallowed his lies;

dined on despise …

Drank his choler,

made him taller,

became a legend,

her soul bludgeoned.

Until that day,

she pushed away

from his table;

felt her able ...

To change her fate,

overturned his plate,

found her true love;

gave hate a shove.

As you may know, I am not much for rhyme myself and always feel the need to rebel and add a final line punchline to break up the strictness of it all... But, this really works in its favour, as it is more impactful with its short and to the point lines, which makes me feel that that is indeed all the time you feel that part of the past deserves, yet with the last being a glimpse at not only making it out alive, bit of happy ever afters being improbably possible.
It just goes to show that hate and hurt can never truly win, or break us into giving up. So, the short punches of your words are perfect and the rhyme almost acts like a full stop/period to that erm, period :)
