Undying fragrance

Undying fragrance

A Poem by Imperfection
"

True :-(

"

Like the undeniable scent

Of a withered flower

Its petals crushed between pages

 Of a book long forgotten

Your love has lingered on devotedly

Even after I trampled over it.

Now I know no way of loving you, so

I keep the fragrance safe in my heart.

This is such a beautiful and sad piece...painful indeed.

"Its petals crushed between pages
Of a book long forgotten."- I loved this metaphor a lot and it moved me!

(I wonder why our best work always comes from this feel of pain and distress, may be because this feel is much more stronger than any happiness or joy....)

"Now I know no way of loving you, so
I keep the fragrance safe in my heart."- Very intriguing lines and made me read them over and over again..As, the feel had been beautifully explained !

Brilliant work!

Gah! I love tragic poems... I love tragedy in its entirety. If i could be any kind of writer, I'd chose to be of the tragedy genre. Why? Because I love exploring emotions. I love exploring pain. I wanna know why we continue to want something even though we know it will hurt us in the end. I love being human.

The imagery is very vivid and your words complement each other well. I love that line in this piece. It instantly appealed to me and strangely, it made me feel like I want more! More! More!

Good job, my friend. I really love your work. Keep sending those read requests. =P

The font made this hard to read, even though it was pretty. The core of it was sad and lonely. You are in your twenties ? Rain..

Beautiful, as always.

Why must it always be so painful, "Your love has lingered on devotedly"? Why can't for once, we write about the happiness in our lives. I guess that is our destiny to simply treasure the memories, and "keep the fragrance safe in my heart."
