Head vs. Heart

Head vs. Heart

A Poem by LetMeLoveYou

Follow one or the other.
Either way
They won't agree.

You follow your head,
You hurt your heart.
You follow your heart,
You mess with your head.

It's hard to choose
Which to listen to
And which to ignore.

Like a game of
Tug of War.
One looses
Sometimes the rope
Snaps.

You wish it hadn't,
But it did.
You can't change it.

You can try to repair it,
But it can never be
The same.

It will never be
Quite as strong
As it once was.

The battle of
Head vs. Heart
Is from the times
Of old,
Yet the battle wages on.

This battle will never end,
And there can only be one
Winner.

The loser breaks,
And far too often
It is
The heart.
