Once Upon a Time....

A short poem written long ago......

Once upon a time

in the world of Rhyme

there lived on a San Francisco Corner

A mime

Who asked me without words for a dime?

No

I walked away knowing I had committed a grievous social crime

This is the same man who refuses utterly

To stand in the welfare line

but getting a hand-out from

Oh, that’s just fine

It’s evident to me the end of the World

Is coming without a sign

The content flows until the stumble:

This was just a poem I wrote as a naive youth and when I stumbled across it, I liked it. I decided to keep it as it was for no other reason than pure and unadulterated laziness. Yes, I said laziness. The crippling plague of modern America......

I really liked the thought flow... and you really should take care of the stumble because I imagine when you wrote it your own mind auto-corrected it as you wrote it. And it isn't a bad piece at all.

Many people who gripe about our welfare system either steel or "borrow" or beg. When push comes to shove, the majority will take what they can get and screw the rest. Sad but true. Great honesty here!
