Sometimes I Wonder

Sometimes I Wonder

A Poem by Andrew Payn

Sometimes I wonder,

if you’re really there.

Sometimes I wonder,

do you really care.

I’m stuck in the darkness.

I’m stuck in my mind.

I’m swirling under stress.

Reaching out, hoping you’ll find,

That I’m right here, right now,

Searching for someone,

I’ve got my hands out

In need of anyone.

I don’t call out much,

Least I don’t think I do.

It would mean so much

If you just said, Hi, want a brew?

You don’t need to pretend,

You don’t need to smile.

Just be my friend,

Even for a little while.

A shout for help,

is a call for you.

I don’t want anyone really,

Just. You.

I know what I think is not true

But I cannot stop the thoughts from starting,

I cannot stop what they’re gonna do

Please understand, and please. Stop us from parting.
