Balloon Threads

Balloon Threads

A Poem by Starrbitt

walking in a world unknown
my eyes catch sight of balloon threads
hanging off tree limbs like pine cones

vibrant shreds that lie ahead
a trail of colors I follow
leaving my life behind , unread

After passing balloons
up in the air
and removing strings that
rained down my hair

I questioned is this the end
then I see you needle in hand
giving a nod to my old friend

kids all around scream and cry
and you smirk as if your their king
you make me sick the way you lie

after you build up the
high wall of dreams
you brake it down to cut
them at the seams

grabbing hold of a balloon
i scoop all of the crying kids
and we ride the wind , kiss the moon

we fall gently to my home
through the ceiling and into bed
where i'll say " your never alone"
