The Road We Choose

The Road We Choose

A Poem by Victoria Scott
"

This poem is all about how life is all about the choices that we make and how they effect are life in ways we do not see but feel. And how they effect us even we are dead.

"
My tears spilled down into the sea
And to MY path I held the key
The hard times, sorrowfully, played across my mind
Wishing I could but rewind
To that time of purity
Before the insecurities that overran my soul.
As I looked upon the road that led
To the very souls left dead
It offered me the easy ride
And to its vulnerabilities my heart opened wide.
As millions too walked this darkened road
Every man, true color showed
My heart was dull, my eyes were blind
As is our fate within us signed
Do say farewell to the love once felt
Cause in the short life each one has dealt
We live by our choice in which we are known
For in God's judgment we stand.....alone.

Yes indeed that was a mistype...I meant to say "also".

It is written like a remorseful reflection of someone who just realized the totality of their life could be summed up in a matter of choices. The only rhyme I noticed that felt forced and unnatural was your 4th line. I think perhaps the line "As millions to walked in the road" just has been mistyped because I wouldn't be able to understand otherwise. Very well done Vic
