The disease that has spread the farthest and the widest has not been COVID-19, but fear......

Though, society is starting to open up again.. Fear is still everywhere in sight. 

People are still not ready to give up their masks. 

They aren't ready to trust yet.

The coronaviras ain't done yet dear Allie. This is phrase one. Chicago, Detroit and New York city. People are still dying and we open up the country. It won't be fear, it will be the big cities spreading the sickness. Healthy people can survive, the older people and the sick. They will die. Phrase two of the Spanish flu killed between 30-50 million people with 1/10 the population we have now. I pray the leaders use logic. I am not afraid, I worry for the people who can't fight the sickness. Men create the perfect killer, kill the weak and the old. Be careful and be safe dear Allie. Look-up the deadly flu. We can learn from the past.

I appreciate your thoughts.. and I'm being careful. I know everyone has a different opinion of this ..mine is that it is not as deadly as many say it is...it is just sensationalized by the media. The flu kills a lot of people every year also. It just hasn't been capitalized on by the media. I believe it's deadly... just not as bad as it's made out to be. The old and those with small children should be extra careful. I just believe that there are a lot of lies circling around about this disease. We can't trust the government, and who really knows what is true and what isn't? Was it really necessary to shut down the whole country? I'm not sure.

It is real. My daughter had the virus. I cure her with my baking soda, water and lime. A lot of fruit and green type food. Used the ginger tea and powerful vitamins. My daughter is a nurse. They lost 5 people last week at the nursing home and 10 more are sick. These were healthy people with some illness. Open up the country dear Allie. We will lose many. We must be safe.

Maybe fear was also one source for creating this disease . I can see some people are careless and some are too protective. I am living in woods which give me opportunity to breath freely. To live at cities and towns must be really difficult. One day this will be over. But I guess that fear will never vanish from our minds. Great write to pointing on real thread of our lives. Fear can kill even fearless .

I take a very cautious approach. Fear, yes. Among some, but there are many that are not taking any precautions at all and don't seem to care. It's certainly a strange time.

Brilliant! I love how the mask can be interpreted literally and metaphorically. The metaphorical mask is certainly our biggest challenge. Well done!

I am also skeptical of getting too free too soon and having us completely backtrack.
A good statement here to look at and ponder.
Fear is a rough one...how do we keep ourselves from falling prey to it.

Try hugging someone and they'll act like you're mugging them... Or is that just me?
The way we do everything will change and as places reopen, it won't be long until we become too blasé and somewhere will start a second wave. It's as you say, fear and paranoia prevail, but there are always those who think they are bulletproof and carry on regardless. We will have to find somewhere between fear and carefree to live for the forseeable future, I just don't know which is worse.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and has since spread globally, resulting in an ongoing pandemic. The new coronavirus has the dubious distinction of not really being a living organism; they require a host to even begin to function. But being a new virus to us can play a role, as it will be the first time our immune system gets to see it and thus we don't have antibodies already made to defend ourselves. All this and FEAR has got us to where we are today... scary stuff my friend....:-(

Yes, it is....I am just worried about what this fear is doing to many people's psyche, and how long is it going to take us not only to recover from this disease, but to get over this fear?.....
