GEEK! Leave her out!

GEEK! Leave her out!

A Chapter by Rose

I wrote this after I went home from being bullied and feeling sick of people at my school

Girls in the classroom

Girls walking in the corridor

Nails and hair get it done

Big ball gown dresses

Get it slipped on and zipped up

It's time...

To get ready for the prom

But how shocked they were

When they heard

I don't like prom dresses

Stepped away from me

Like I was a disease

Laughing and questioning me

Why don't they leave me be

What girl does not like prom dresses?

Well that would be me

I don't know how they can find it amusing

Laughing and joking

I would hate to be you

They told me

As they checked their powdered faces

Glittered eye lids

Do you not wear make up?

Why me?

Why even ask me?

I'm fine without make up

They pushed me away like I was a freak

Why is your hair always the same?

Well clearly I don't want it cut

But they insist

I should have that bit there

I should put that hair to that side

When really I don't care

Why can't they let me be me

This is not fair

They mess up my hair

But leave me out

Of thier group anyway

They stare with hate everyday

You look so ugly

I hate your bag

Why they comment so bad?

It makes me feel so sad

I'm such a problem to everyone

I am left to be alone

If I'm not normal

Then what am I?

There always has to be

The one in the school

thats so uncool

It is sad, how society wants us to conform to its norms, no matter how absurd they might be. People view non-conformists as strange creatures, often stooping to the level of belittling them. Little do they realise that the joke's on themselves.
I really like this write. The fact that you've poured all your emotions on paper reflects in this poem. Great job!

...and when these "girls" are struggling to feed their 6 kids by different Dads, they will be seeing you on TV at your own book signing. Don't ever change - be you - and keep writing x

I hope you really don't feel like you're not normal because then a lot of people aren't. I'm definately not. I HATE makeup. I NEVER went to prom and I can't afford prom dresses if I EVER want one. And I did change my hair because I thought a change would surprise all the people who rediculed the fact that I wore it down EVERY SINGLE day, but I don't even like it as much as I did now.

I have not made a run-in with girls like these. I may have, but I don't ever pay attention. What's the point of being "cool"? I never get it. After a few years, I won't see those people ever again.

I just be myself, blow a kiss to my haters, and say hi to everyone I actually like or actually like me. Hun, if you're a geek or freak, then I'm all of the below, above, whatever.

Please don't allow stupid, immature people to bring you down, cause while they're puffing them cheeks, you'll be getting that cash.

People who dare to call others names or ridicule love, are scared! Fear of the unknown makes people act like idiots! This is a great poem, honest, courageous and I hope, cathartic :)

I've had this too... I know what it feels like. Undying glory couldn't have pit it better. Just take comfort in the fact that we're a
bit different, we
don't conform - we're unique. Stay strong, it will be better soon.
(good poem, by the way!)

yep, that's exactly how it feels to be the outcast and the geek. Like Kit Kat here, i was also right in the same position like you, not in exactly the same situation, but still there. 6 years of it finally made me toughen up and look at the world around us properly.

I like everything about this, as well as the general feeling about this. now when i look back, it's exceedingly naive to judge people as cool or uncool in school. after all, we're all still young and still seeking an identity of our own. just because someone decides to do things differently, not go with the flow, isn't doing what everyone else is doing, and so on, doesn't make him/her a freak. all that he/she is doing is showing a different way of doing things, with a whole new perspective.

So all in all, excellent write. I leave you with this quote from someone interviewed for Michael Moore's documentary, "Bowling For Columbine",
"You know, it's funny how things turn out. All the nerds and geeks get the good jobs and leave, while the cool kids are still stuck here as insurance agents." awesome

I hate those girls who think they have to judge and fix everyone but then don't even give them a second look after the deed is done. I don't understand why everyone can't just get alone. I got lucky with my grade. Everyone just sort of likes each other all around. But I've seen all the other grades fight and laugh and make fun of others and it's just terrible. This poem totally speaks to me. You did such a great job expressing bullies in school. Don't EVER let anyone tell you that you're uncool. You're just an individual who has your own mind. Let it fly out and just be happy. Who cares what everyone else thinks. Anyways, this was a really good poem. It told a story along the way and I liked it. Great job!!!!!

I like your picture that goes with the poem! Also who r they to tell u how to act and look? being who u r ius wat makes u unique! Don't listen to wat they have to say, U r one of a kind and those ghiels r just shallow and judgemental.
