I will not go quietly; my wrath persists

I am not disposable, an item to be tossed aside

I am not a charity case, in need of your empty chivalry

I am not to be taken lightly, like the many hats you wear and discard

I am not who you tried to make me

I am who I have always been

I am the light that hides your darkness

I am keeper of the closet in which your skeletons reside

I am not a crusader for the irrational, a seeker of conflict

I am simply not afraid of fighting for what is just

You have risen on the light I shine

You project normalcy onto the screen I provide

You have sired brilliance that grows only in my womb

You have no self but the ones you usurp

You are not what you pretend to be

You are empty as you have always been

You are dark hiding behind my light

You are disposable like the hats you wear

You are not the calm and collected one

You are simply afraid of the fight

Good - I thought this was a good description of a dysfunctional relationship. I like the structure you have used with the you and I sides of the couple. It seems that the you is the side with the problems but he/she might say the opposite. The mention of hats was an intriguing detail.
