Wanderer

Wanderer

A Poem by Abhilash Hegde

those abandoned roads, I travel
to seek out my disillusioned castle.
with a broken compass in hands
I've set off to Utopian lands.

as the winds befriend me,
those bare-bewitched eyes see
of a recluse I'm to be,
sipping that cup of night tea.

these crossroads aren't any strangers,
they greet me like my next-door neighbors.
we speak to each other in melancholic solitude
and exchange directions with a warm gratitude.

I ain't know when to stop
every other day just another hop
maybe, crack open myself to talk ?

to far-off I may wander
this ain't a meek-heart to squander.
I'm journeying to meet my life node
on that less-traveled desolated road
as I search for my long-lost abode.

majestic! what a reflexive prose and magic-real thoughts taken out by the lips and lines of the writer: "..those abandoned roads, I travel, to seek out my disillusioned castle. " amazing path to express the need of heart and soul to find its own way home. and also my favorite: "...with a broken compass in hands I've set off to Utopian lands". I just bow, and bow, and bow, and bow to this majestic prose. thank U Abhi, ...and please, never stop writing.

Thank you grace for reading. I'm glad to hear you and I love the roads and travel too :)
This has a nice rhythm to it. Like an old school hip hop beat. You can beat your head to this. Wandering and searching. Seeking a higher level. Great work!

As a fairly strict rhymer myself, I enjoy seeing a poet use rhyme more loosely & in a relaxed way, not always perfect rhymes, but close enuf for a song. I often feel like a wanderer in life, even when I'm not able to move or travel, & this is what your poem reminds me of . . . THAT kind of wandering . . . when we're not going to the beat of everyone else's drum. I also get the feeling of real physical wandering from your poem, which I enjoy becuz it's stated in unexpected ways, but the deeper meaning feels like a different kind of soul wandering here (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I liked it here, when you said the cross roads aren't any strangers. I liked the whole stanza in particular, especially,"exchanging directions with a warm gratitude". Very nicely written.
I enjoyed your journey and the search for the long lost abode. You do put some element of nature in your work, it seems. I love that. what are we without those elements ?
Nice write with good rhyming.
Thanks for sharing and keep writing.:-):-)
