She

Broken and shattered; but she won't let them see.

Scared of all these wolves around her

Bite scars on her soul, 

Tired of all the craters surrounding 

Plunging into endless holes. 

Circled by everyone yet isolated 

Too much chaos, so many lies,

And she fakes a smile at all of them 

Every time a piece of her dies. 

And in the night she walks 

Through the territory of the dead 

Running fast from all the ghosts 

And the demons that dwell in her head. 

She's drowning in the ice cold water

Her feelings have burned inside 

They all told her she has no worth 

She's trying to find a place to hide. 

She has lost herself in the dark void 

Loneliness is her only friend. 

She's searching for the long lost peace 

Will this struggle ever come to an end?

When I wrote this poem I had the character of a helpless and bullied girl in my mind. So this poem can apply to any girl who has gone through hardships being judged by the world for her deeds and never been appreciated. That's why the general title "She".

Loneliness, longing, sadness and depression, all these are entwined feelings or sense of beings. Whether we accept it or not, in all the cases we need help.
Your poem evokes so many deep feelings in me, it resonates like my own song.
Beautifully vivid and articulate.
What intrigued me the most, is the choice of title. Even I have recently penned a piece called 'Her', and your work is like a reflection in the new light for me.

Loneliness is the biggest fear in life, and you seem to capture that well. I do not really like the second line though. "Bite scars on her soul," The imagery fits perfectly, but the flow of it just seems off.
