The Candle-Maker's Shop

The Candle-Maker's Shop

A Poem by Annie N.
"

a delicious waltz with aromas...

"

French lavender and velvet vanilla,

Honeyed nuts and sugared pears

Envelope me in air so sweetened.

Hints of lilac and violet petals,

Zesty limes with juniper breezes

Kiss my odorless lips with fruity essence.

Mingle country spices with mountain laurel,

Join coconut cream and buttermilk mints,

And serenade my blissful inhalations.

Scents of apricots, peaches, melons,

Slivers of pine and smoky apples

Entrance the senses with teasing aromas.

With tart raspberries and bitter plums,

Come lush roses and buttered scotch

Hatched from the dancing candlelight...

wow, very impressive for only thirteen. great vocabulary choices, descriptions. short and tangy but too the point, sweet and enveloping. a hint of hidden romance, a dash of writing talent, a recipe for a great poem by a talented writer! Awesome

Such a romantic atmosphere! Makes me want to light all the candles I have now, they're my total weakness. The poem itself is so gentle and fragile, well done, I'm impressed!

Very creative and poetic. This shows your writing skills. A poem that is a delight for all the senses. I could see all this and smell the wonder perfumes as well.

Another WOW from me ~ I love your poetry! So vivid and palpable, exciting all my senses!
I love candles of any kind but have not come across such wondrous aromas as you depicted here.

A delightful waltz!!!

Ah, I have made candles before and love breathing in the fragrances.. Yes! Your words awaken the wonder of the senses and all that comes from melting, dancing wax... Blissful to be sure.

Beautiful~ Nicely written and a good read, but more importantly, it made me picture this and even smell it. But more than smell, I could taste it too...even though it was a candle...Hm. It also reminded me of my trip to the Yankee Candle Factory about a year ago!
