Disingenuous Words

Disingenuous Words

A Poem by Emmy

An open and amorphous day,
wait too long it will slip away.
A pragmatic night
better in hindsight.
Close your eyes, tuck yourself in tight,
but beware for the bed bugs bite.
First to hit the hay
gets the worm they say.
Never mind me and my word play,
all I want is for you to stay.
I know I sound trite
but you're too polite.

I'm not very confident that this makes much sense or that these stanzas even go together, but please let me know what you think.
