Him or Hazelnut Coffee?

Him or Hazelnut Coffee?

A Poem by Anuja Sharma
"

For the love of cold yet warm winter evenings!!

"
Cozy winter evening in a café,
Unsure of picking hazelnut or latte.
Confusion wasn't the flavor,
It was the heart stuck in his subtle savor.

Meddled with my thoughts,
with that wondrous smile,
The warm sip of coffee shook me up
Yeah, seems like
I was in the state of infatuated exile.

Reading his eyes like a deep philosophy,
Just couldn't figure out,
If I was lost in the aroma of his soul
Or that brewed hazelnut coffee.

"A state of infatuated exile..."
How very like the first days of a relationship. Dare I say, a first love even? What is it in a poet's soul that feeds on romance?
A question for the ages. 😄
A beautiful poem.

You are most welcome, Ma'am.
Coffee or the aroma of his soul.
I honestly think relationships have broken down over a decent cup of coffee.
Probably why Lawyers drink Tea. Latte or Julie, Julie or Latte. See how difficult it is.
