A child again!!

A child again!!

A Poem by Anuja Sharma

Chasing butterflies felt kindled,

Running around carefree,

Now their shimmering wings look faded,

As if the colors from life wants to flee.

Flavored ice made delighted,

Friends, chats and laughter,

Now the delicious food is unappetizing,

Fake souls, forged smiles ever after.

Life was like a jingling garden,

Want to visit every time,

Now that fresh leaf has faded,

The pleasant breeze has lost its rhyme.

Adulthood is saddening,

Seems like walking down a stressful lane,

Take me back to the angelic time,

I want to live,

I want to be a child again!!!

When we are children, we try to grow up before our time. When we are grown, we want to be children again.
Longing for simplicity, chasing beauty, loneliness... These are the things I see here. Nicely written.

Thankyou so much Sir. This really means a lot.😊
Living in the mountain wilderness, I am transported to when I was a child growing up in similar terrain with only nature as a close-by friend. I believe most people want to be able to transport back to a time when life was as simple & exciting & beloved as you paint in your poem (((HUGS)))

Beautiful poetry. Never let the child in you die. I still jump in puddles. My inner child can:t wait to come out and play. I really enjoyed your poetic expression here. A lovely read Anuja.

“All children are born artists, the problem is to remain an artist as we grow up.” — Pablo Picasso.

You have the artistry of a child and a mature adult in this poem. Wonderfully explained and expressed poetry. I suppose as adults we strive to live like Kings/Queens but never to live like angels, although some do. This poem makes me think. I enjoyed the read. tyfs

I don't blame you!! I think aging seems to make everything dark, dull and boring; it's the way you express it that makes it so poetic and lovely, even thought it would bice to dream of our past as a child.
Well- written and I enjoyed it
