Zodiac

A Poem by V.B.
"

I'm a Taurus. But you probably knew that, right?

"
i am a walking awkward silence.

i have an origami heart,
a prosthetic soul,
and an encyclopedic knowledge
of wasted potential.

the very notion
that everyone on earth
is not screaming constantly
will confound my plastic intellect
until the day i die--

a mannequin gone limp,
wondering if the stars
make their decisions
based on alignments
of people below them.

An origami heart and a prosthetic soul..that is one amazing phrase. I think you have major talent, and I think I'm going to have to check out more of your work!

I love the wonderings of the last stanza - do the stars make their decision based on our sporadic movements - I doubt they give a s**t tbh ha - the second stanza reads so well - the words all compliment each other phonetically! zodiacal (don't often get to use that) greatness!

Well, I am a Gemini. And we both think that the first stanza was spot on. Prosthetic soul... man, I really like that. And the little twist at the end was clever.

Being a person who never bought into the whole zodiac thing, it was refreshing to read something that suggested it might be wrong. Haha. Short but beautiful. Kudos, sir.
