Dharma (Dhamma)

Dharma (Dhamma)

A Poem by Chirag Kumar

Dharma (Dhamma)

The vagabond mind,
stubborn as a mule,
treads umpteen realms,
every minute,
every second.

The dead past, rekindled
by artificial resuscitation,
some real,
some fictitious,
gifts nothing but dukkha.

The opaque tomorrow,
bombarded with thoughts,
all fictitious,
gifts thee nothing
but dukkha again!

Between these two poles,
lies the glorious present,
beaten but to death,
by constant worries,
and rotten beliefs.

Observe profane breaths.
Study the deep sancaras,
and you shall realize
the purest form
of the Bodhi.

Let all past karmas
be uprooted
from the grounds of conscience,
by the winds of peace,
the smiles of harmony,
the Light of Dharma (Dhamma).

C Kumar

dukkha - suffering
sancaras - nature of the unconditional mind
Bodhi - understanding regarding the true nature of things
