What
is the value of a life built upon the shattered dreams of
others? Bernie Sanders the voice of our past. Who has been calling
out to us for half a century. With a sound that echos the tears from
every patriot grave. Crying "put away your swords. Beat to
plowshares your weapons. Pick up the sad, lonely and poor." With
what nobility can we claim superiority without compassion? Successful
society is not built upon the admiration of the rich or youthful. It
is built upon the dignity of human life.
His
a struggle so deep, so profound. I can't think of any other who at
his advanced age has labored with so many burdens. It is little
enough for us to support him. He is our champion. From a grateful
nation I report the cry. That started as a whisper. Echoing out over
the hills. Like notes from far flung rain.
Don't
wait till your life is all done to learn the lessons of a
fool Know the rewards of self are none where love of
others is the rule
So
small the pain of his distress whose earnings don't tell of his
worth An honest man, this life will bless
no
matter his fortunes at birth

You know I’ve always said the job is meant to facilitate a life not Define one. The rich and disco set up the tax rules So that people like Bill Gates for instance and Jeff Bezos have so much money that they can’t spend it. Bill Gates has been retired for 30 years. With the promise that he will donate his money to the good of humanity. He’s worth more now than he was 30 years ago.
O Tate, what a pleasure to read your words once again. This piece captures a side to Bernie that I see, too. As much as I agree with a lot of his ideas, and many people like him, I can't find the words to explain why I do not think he'll be our next president. Whoever it is going to be, it can't happen soon enough. I hope he reads this one day.

Boom boom boom what a fine construction of lines was not expecting this from the title it’s funny how I have been hearing Dylan in my head for a couple of days now times they are a changing has been echoing in my head lately!!!! I have always appreciated Dylan’s music but it wasn’t until much later in life that I truly appreciated his poetry!? Not a thing did I not like in this piece

I love What you stand for here.... somehow people forget what matters.... in this search for life.... we lose the purpose, forget to be kind and to look around
I enjoyed this for many reasons, but I think I admired it most because of its truth...we are still blessed whether the world hears us or not, but the hope is... there are those of us who hear and see...This made me think also of Mister Rogers...I am struck by the people in this world who stand for humanity and grateful for them~

Thank you Tabby mac I am one who believes we are best when we are kind
A fine tribute to Bernie Saunders. I don't know a great deal about politicians in your neck of the woods Tate, other than a certain Mr Trump, whose reputation is well and truly known. Any politician who shows true compassion to others is a rarity nowadays, he should be celebrated. I like what you have written and I am a great fan of Bob Dylan, so it was great listening to him while I read and typed my response. Hope all is good with you.
