The world has riches rare indeed

but shares them only with a few

What I love is worth so much more

they are recollections of you

 

I need so few of this worlds goods

having all your thoughts, ways and deeds

They lift my soul to the heavens

where I plant loves garden of seeds

 

Through your eyes I have seen wonders

so numerous I can't count

But oh such beauty none the less

before God I could not recount

What need have I for coins of Gold

they can't buy what your eyes can see

My treasure lie within your smiles

stamped in the mint of Memory

Dear Lord, this was so beautiful I swear it touched my soul. Every line is like a burst of overwhelming beauty the not only encourages but pushes and tugs at the reader to read on and crave more. Honestly, I was breathless by the end of it, my eyes were absorbed by each word as was the rest of being, reading this was an experience I wouldn't mind having a few hundred times more. 'I need so few of this world's goods'; It does not compare with the inner heart place where past treasures are kept. This a beautiful rendition of how we begin to realize what really matters. As minutes fly and we grow older by the day....coins of gold .......loose significance. Thank you for the reminder that this life is not about stuff but about love!

Our children truly are the most precious of gifts. This poem is a lovely tribute on what kids can teach us. Tears flow as I read this one (although I must admit I am a bit emotional this week as our youngest will marry on Saturday). Thank you I have had a tumultuous couple weeks I was honored to walk my little girl down the aisle followed by yesterday. My father Eddies memorial held on fathers day 6/21/15
Time has a way of wearing us down. The old recriminations seem to ring out hollow as we ourselves become polished by the winds of time. In that end we see that love shines bright upon the simple truths of life. We find that one thing that makes life so worth the pain, that of unconditional love of another that both grants us the strength and grace to struggle on. My fathers ashes were symbolically poured across the finish line of the race track where his life started and his race was finally done. http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/aristate/1323374/
