Darkness

Darkness

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

No one controls the hearts desire. Nor whether it be happy or sad.

"

Of all the faces man puts forth

to hide the dark inner sorrows

Love is the one that matters most

as from the deep soul it borrows

We know the Fate's in their fury

don't fear rage from their painful screams

For whenever the truth be told

they harm us only in our dreams

We pine for that one's acceptance

a glint in the young woman’s eye

The sweet smell of her hair caress

as she wistfully saunters by

Man will always question his fate

search for that brighter inner light

To illuminate his darkness

and scare away the haunting night

So true! Fine work indeed. Acceptance of "what is" is always difficult, but we cannot strive toward what "ought to be" without such acceptance. That acceptance opens us to the Love which is innate and frees us from regret. Love to you

I embrace my own darkness, it is necesary and important but I never share it through my words. I guess there's enough darkness in this world. I try to shed as much light as I can. . .

There's a near mystery in this .. almost what is the meaning of life and what it holds. Seems love is entwined in everything we do, every way we think .. when it comes to relationships it almost gets in the way and yet, remains the most puzzling of all emotions.

Your poem holds all that and more .. as I see it. Great post.

There is a sense of knowing and yet learning... darkness and yet a coming light... You inspire us with a hope even in the midst of darkness.. Wonderful words...

I seem to be missing quite a few new posts, such as this. Excellent! Certainly a thought provoking piece.

"We know Fate in all her fury,
fear no rage from her painful screams.
For whenever the truth be told,
she harms us only in our dreams."

So true. We just have to acknowledge and accept that. Liked this write a lot.

one of the lovliest aspects of your write is the fact that one always seems to be needing what you put forth, every time it's,,Thanks Tate,i needed it,,it's like it is written for the reader, for that particular person,,,your writes are eternal,,something that is difficuilt to express,it lives,,,,Thanks Tate needed this one,,

Beautiful, full of wisdom and emotions! The 7th and 9th stanzas were very moving.. but the whole piece flowed nicely.. those two hit a chord.. love moments of youth go on (that they do through memories and youth within).. and we will always question our fate.. though we mostly know it we question our purpose and pathways.. love the piece really! Great work dear friend!
