Ode to Her

Ode to Her

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

The fruits loins I would not know

"

Fruits of loins I might never know

had we never loved so sweet

When we did plant seeds of desire

little chancing we might meet

Holding my breath as I jumped

chancing all on a single toss

Leaped the very bonds of Earth

trying for the worlds I would cross

But God did see my grasp inflated

as he pulled me back to Earth

Saying of my tenacity

"you have overstepped your worth"

Filled with confidence I did go

not caring what he had said

For I would listen to no one

as I had no fear nor dread

Now holding to that grasp of faith

it's for you I shed my tears

Knowing you alone were worthy

of loving all of my years

I have one of those too, Tate...the man that got away.
I realized later that we would have made each other miserable...but, oh...how it hurt!

This is beautiful and captivating.
It awoke something in me i had forgotten i could feel.
Like the weight of everything unsaid and undone.

It also points to the fact that the creator knows best. And tries to warn us as he knows our worth.

Beautifully done Tate. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for coming to the cafe and friending me
Came across this. I can't say I have been there but could have if I didn't persist for that one and for them to realize what we could have and now have is something far more greater. Beautifully done.

What I enjoyed about this is the way Tate employs excellent rhymes and puts them into careful and well balanced verses, this is written with skill and a lot of thought, the content is fine too, a classical love poem. Good write.

I don't think an obsession ever stops being an obsession, just slowly evolves into a whisp of the former still drifting in and out with a breeze or coming alive again with a sound of some soft strain of music. Too strong to leave forever.

It must have been a pretty powerful obsession, to have you still dreaming of it all these years later.
