Scream and Shout

Scream and Shout

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Sad to see the love of ones life walk down the Isle without you.

"

The heart never sleeps like the mind

forever twists and turns

When the mind has had enough

the heart of love still burns

The mind tells the heart to tether

it's hopes upon a string

Always thinking it knows better

to make life's chorus sing

These two dance through life together

two parts of just one soul

Each searching to love another

chasing a different goal

Many a man followed his mind

to turn love asunder

But he never knows beauty's bliss

 of love he will wonder

The mind is not the final judge

of what life is about

Best to not die of a whimper

but live to scream and shout

Sad as it is to have a broken heart, one can't but think how joyous the heart that gets back up screams to the fates" Is that the best you got?"

well done Tate ... top notch rhyme rhythm and story telling says i! its an old and well worn debate which comes first ... the feeling or the thought .. the chicken or the egg ;) personally i don't think we can "feel" without first the thoughts ... just try "feeling" something without thinking first ;) but i hear the message in this loud and clear ... its the surrender to passions that breaths all the colors and fiery turmoil into ones life ...all the heartache one has is well worth the experience of strong emotional love and desire ... a great addition to your poetry here at the Cafe' ... always a treat to see you have posted anew!

Ouch. Very nicely put together Tate. Nothing like a woman scorned ye !! Head and heart....if they agree it's heaven on earth. If they don't agree...could be hell on earth.

Thanks for share.

very true, the mind and heart are very different and crave sometimes widely different things; it all depends which one we choose to listen to that makes the ultimate impact. good write, keep it up

Beautiful job on this one! I was completely captivated in it all the way through. I love the way you contrasted what the heart wants versus what the mind wants. And the last stanza was a very strong and beautiful ending. You have a lot of talent. Beautiful write. :) Definitely one of my favorites.

Sad, but well-written. Flows easily as do all your poems.

Excellent piece. I love the last stanza; I agree 100%. Just a little difficult at times to convince one's self to get that register, though. Thoughtful, observant piece which is well-crafted.

Ah!..such wise words...i often do question this to myself as in what magnitude of effort could i make that i could control my mind and more so the heart and create a harmony between them...but it never does happen..atleast with me...i make the same mistakes again and again...
This is very eloquently written and the magic of it lies in the fact that it is very heartfelt and one connects immediately..

This is a poem that flows easily and the words are beautiful even though the poem has a sad undertone to it.
