Queen of the Night

Queen of the Night

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

So like the ebb and flow of tide life's joys and sorrows surrender To the never ending song of love we both give as much as we render

"

Look to the moon queen of night

she causes the ocean to attend her

And he so long as she is in sight

has full tide to kiss her tender

When she at last turns off her light

he calls the mighty waves to moan

With low ebb manifests his sorrow

heaving the fathoms with every groan

So you the keeper of my heart beat

have my joys attending your will

Lifting the weight so high and so deep

causing loves every wave to fill

When you are gone away from me

as you sometimes are known to depart

Causes my very soul to ache

waves of sorrow flow from my heart

So like the ebb and flow of tide

life's joys and sorrows surrender

To the never ending song of love

we both give as much as we render

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
There is a beautiful relationship between the soul of humanity and the sea.And any who have spent time at night listening to the calls from ancestors from across it know what I mean. The pulse of the ocean in the crashing waves say to us we are Home.

Thanks nancy you are a dear this piece seems to fit the bill for my wife and I
Am sure King Neptune would be best pleased with this piece Tate. It conjures for me tumultuous stormy seas and full moons of enormous proportions. Majesty, power. The symbiotic connection for humankind to the moon and the seas tides is enormous and we oft are so disconnected in our awareness of it on many levels.
Felt like a fisherman on the water in an ancient time in salutation. The word yearning is in my mind too.

thank you I feel as if every time I'm near the sea I have come Home
... I don't know what to say. It's so touching. Like Marie said, The tide is in all of us...sweepint us out...flowing us back... I'm going with what everyone else said.

Keep on writing!

I found myself on the shoreline my heart sharing the pain of the Ocean's loss and also reassured that the light will return and the heart will beat once again...then I lay next to the sad tide as we waited together for the return of the Moon.
This poem is magical.

There is something very elemental about sitting and listening to the ocean. The Moon, of course, gets involved with those sounds as well as being an archetype of love. I personally think this is a personal best, at least in the limited number that I have read. Great job Tate.

My celtic ancestry calls me home all the time. One day I will cross the sea and land on the shores of Scotland or Wales and maybe I will feel at home...

This is sweet and tender, and I love the comparisons you've made between humanity and nature. Simply beautiful!
