A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Coming home from where I had been retracing steps from here to there Has brought my life full circle now bringing back the lessons I share

"

            tate and paige
Tate and his cousin Paige in the 50 ft swing we built

The water's edge rose to meet me

while either side the river lie

Across the bridge and path I ran

past tall fields of both wheat and rye

To the meadow where my home sat

there childhood dreams were born and died

I followed the path that life led

my favored angel at my side

Here were crafted my hopes and dreams

from hence I’d come to test my skill

To find the place where I belong

perhaps upon some distant hill

Coming home from where I had been

retracing  steps from here to there

Has brought my life full circle now

teaching me the lessons I share

I had set out to find my purpose

only my own life did I see

But finding love in coming home

my treasured soul had found all three

Dear Tate,

As always a beautiful and romantic piece. However this one is perhaps even more romantic than usual. And I agree. How happy a home filled with loved ones. Money can't buy this. Nothing can replace this. This is what completes us and gives us our sense of purpose and meaning.

A nice one, Tate. Very much enjoyed.

Best regards,

Rick

Heart warming, and rich in thought, you capture a place where you will always find your heart, where we come from indeed can be who we are, but for some, I hope not, you create a fantasy for many and a realistic truth for many. I very much enjoyed reading you.

Oh Tate! So much to relate for anyone who has been driven by fate to far off lands, for his work, from his home!

How much I love these lines! And how much they relate to me too!

This poem is not just great to read word-by-word, for the rhythm and lyricism, it's good storytelling. You painted a wonderful picture in my mind, full of emotion without being sappy, truthful without being pretentious, and heartfelt without being hokey. That's a hard line to walk, and you pulled it off with a flourish.
