The Sweetest Gift

The Sweetest Gift

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Caught in the web of years that binds our lives so tight Giving all to each desires dreams for the hopes to loves delight

"
My loving wife "Rebecca"

We the frail likes of which

have never known so sweet

Do love each others heart alone

in secret places that we meet

____________________________

We touch each of the other

in the dusk pearl of the spring

Hold the light of love's embrace

as both our hearts take wing

____________________________

Caught in the web of years

that binds our lives so tight

Giving all to each desires dreams

for the hopes to love's delight

____________________________

Never was there a mood of mine

lost in the love song of embrace

That you gave my soul to sing

in wonders lit by our secret place

 ____________________________

Think I must have eyes to see

this heart so unknown till now

Opened the light of imprisoned love

that hung on the weighted bough

_____________________________

Where dark the days of my past

now lit by the bright sunshine

I give the world another look

to see its sweet gift as mine

I can definitely see you in this poem. It is very personal and captivating. I have a love of my own and poems about love seem to have a greater effect on me at this stage in my life. Thank you very much for your submission to my contest and I hope you have a long and lasting career ahead of you.

I am struck by the way you give credit to those you deem deserving in your life, despite any grief associated with the various situations at one time, while you discredit yourself to those who hold you in high esteem. your ability to bear Love and Contrition can move mountains. This piece is, indeed, a gift of Sweetness....Barbz

Always the romantic, Tate. Rebecca should love this. Some people can open their hearts through their writing to let others in; it's a rare gift, and you have it.

(sigh) What a lovely enchanting write!...This lifts my heart and makes me smile. To read this, is to know where your heart is....a sunny place, where I wish to find within my own heart. Thank you for this uplifting piece!
