Thoughts

Thoughts

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

We look back to our childhood years the comfort of old friends For all must see, forever we fear how this life must end

"

From time to time I wonder thoughts

that dream of what might be

I wander glade, stroll promenade

make sense of all I see

____________________________

Valleys, rivers, majestic woods

of these, playgrounds are made

Where my clan, played kick the can

and man was measured, weighed

____________________________

We look back to our childhood years

the comfort of old friends

For most must see, forever we

fear how this life must end

__________________________

That promise of a wondrous place

where we forever play

Bestows the thought, it may be bought

through faith if we don't stray

______________________________

What awaits us there, up above

that we do not have here

Life's greatest strength, comes not from length

but springs of love not fear

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
I say what matters in this life? Could it be we learn kindness is it's own reward? I will talk to God when and if I see him. But friends don't need help in Heaven. They need help on Earth. So I shall do the best I can with the resources allotted to me. May all your wishes come true.

Love- Indifference- Hate, of the three, Indifference is the worst , it has no weight, no side to sit on , energy none, just illusion .Then there is Tate, He has whittled away at himself, done what we are scared to do .He knows what he means and means what he knows. We survive, endure this Devils world, and Tate he gives us hooks to hang our thoughts on.

Man's strength comes not from his life's length
but stems from love not fear... Another exceptional Poem! The strength of a man truly isnt in the length of his days but in the lives he has touched/changed one way or the other, Love is eternal! thank you for sharing this! I love it!

I am not up on forms of writing .. As you are, I do on occasion use rhyme .. if it flows naturally for me .. There are a few lines I disagree with, but that really doesn't matter .. I agree we should be "good" for goodness sake .. alone .. and not out of fear, of punishment ..in some hell we are not sure exist .. . I have seen hell here on earth .. and none of those who suffered ever did anything to deserve that hell ..
This is well written and in perfect form .. and as others have already commented, very thought provoking .. and isn't that what poetry is suppose to do .. touch hearts, and provoke thought ..

This is beautiful and thought-provoking, very meaningful lines that need to be read slowly and with reflection. Wonderful form and thanks for the sharing, I learned more today reading your poem.

Beautiful! If we all could be, as brothers!

i guess people spend their lives being preoccupied with what happens after death and fear what may happen to them. they have all these ideas of how to live their lives and how faith will save them. i guess it means that love and kindness for your fellow man is what will get you to 'that promise of a wondrous place.' very heavy subject matter that you articulated well and poetically.
