Happy Couples

Everyone says
You're happier when you have a boyfriend.
I'm perfectly happy
Being single.
There are some people, though,
Who are in bad moods
When they are single.

I walk into the crowded dance floor,
Happy couples holding each other surround me.
I start dancing by myself,
Perfectly happy.
I watch a guy leave his date
And she stands there
With a depressed look on her face.

I don't understand
Why people need to be in a relationship
To be happy.
I'm perfectly happy being single
Though it is nice having a boyfriend.

I totally agree.
Good write, not so rough. I liked it, anyway. Just one thing; it would sound a bit better if the last sentence of the first stanza 'they are' could be 'they're'. Don't change it if you don't agree--just my opinion:)

I loved the road. I traveled across the USA six times. Going where I desire and having fun alone. Took a girl friend with once. Wasn't a girlfriend at the end. Being free is cool for a time. Can discover the world you want to see. Poem had good wisdom. A excellent poem.
