Nursing Home

Written after visiting my great grandpa in his nursing home a few years ago.

As I walk in
I feel
Sadness.
The people are lonely,
They don't like it here,
They want to be
With their family.

To me it feels like
All they are doing is
Waiting for death.
Just because they are old
Doesn't mean
They should wait for
Death.

It is like a funeral home
Across from the cemetery
With people waiting
To die.

I hate Nursing homes too. I have see few where the old are treated respect and care. Your poem described what I feel too. With people waiting To die. A excellent poem.
