Overused

I walk through the hall,
Hearing small snippets of couples conversations.
Old couples,
New couples,
They all say the same.
I love you.
Even if they have only dated for a day,
I love you.
In a week they would be broken up,
Those three important words wasted
On someone they dated for only a day.
Why are they overused?
Do people feel that they must say them
In order to stay together.
I refuse to say them
Until I am truly in love,
I am truly,
Head over heels,
In love.
I'm not going to overuse them.

Very true how often people use those words when truly they don't mean them. Interesting ending. As a movie reviewer would say, "This deserves two thumbs up". Very nice take on this.
