Spur of the Moment

Spur of the Moment

A Poem by Arthur Rider
"

thoughts on the gentle gender

"
What makes women tick? What spurs them on?
What do they want? Do they want a moment?
What makes them so mysterious?
Do they want some timeless notions?
What am I to think? Do I plan before going forward
or do something by the spur of the moment?
Do I know what is going on?
or am I just going through the motions?
Do I understand? I wander momentarily.
What spurs on the quest for knowledge?
Why do women have so many shoes?
Why do women have so many lotions?
The great mysteries of life. The mysteries of love.
Time flies by in a spur of the moment.
We are born and then we die.
Still, I don’t understand women’s emotions.
I spur on to momentary glory. Does life have a story?
A spur can hurt, and so does life. As does an occasion of strife.
Forget the moment, give God your devotions.
Understanding will come later.
Still I wonder,
What makes women tick?
