WHEN MY PEN HAS STOPPED WOKING

WHEN MY PEN HAS STOPPED WOKING

A Poem by Anshuman Aryav

I was approx thirteen,

When I started writing.

Since I have written about many things,

But this is the first time when my pen has stopped working.

Because today I am going to write about my world,

So this is very hard for me,

To define her in words.

She is my everything,

Who taught me to fly,

 Even without any wings.

Whenever I cry,

Tears come in her eyes.

Whenever I wail,

She feels my pain.

She is the one, whose place can’t be taken by any other,

 She is my mother.

She is my mother.

In rainy day whenever I need a support,

She comes and works like a raincoat.

Whenever I collide with anything at night,

She shows me direction as a light.

Now I have nothing to say,

And nothing to give her or repay,

Because she is my mother,

With whom my relation is 9 months more than any other.

The last line is brilliant! It took me a minute to figure out what you were saying (I’ve never had kids, so I forget about this part), but then I realized your closing remark shows pure genius! Nine months more than any other! Good one! Your poem is heartfelt & that’s the strongest aspect of your writing here. You lead slowly into your revelation about who your poem is about, which is well done with a little suspense. This slow entry into your topic gives the impression about how earth-shattering this topic is for you to write about. This is a nice way to convey the depth of your feeling by showing us how you feel (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
