My attempt at a poem in the Octelle form.

40 YEARS

The start of my life’s endless bliss

The sparkle of our first soft kiss

 

Up I flew on wings of love

Soaring higher than a dove

 

Forty years of hazy steam

Still today as in a dream

from MsJewel: The Octelle is a form created by Emily Romano. It has eight lines and the rhyme scheme is aabbccaa, the syllable count is 88777788. The first two lines are repeated as the last two lines. What further sets the form, in its description, is using personification and symbolism in a telling manner. You may have as many verses as you wish as long as they follow the same rules
