The Invisible Twin

Steven hears a voice in his head commanding him to eat junk food. He goes to a psychic and later collapses and finds out the source of the voice.

THE INVISIBLE TWIN

Some years ago a lady gave birth to a son that she named Steven. Steven was always an odd boy. When Steven was about 13 he developed a constant craving for junk food. At the same time he began to hear a voice in his head. He had a hard time in school. The teachers and other students said that he was always mumbling to himself and would sometimes rummage the leftover lunches for extra food.

The older Steven became, the stronger the voice became. The voice would tell him when to eat and what to eat. Steven began putting on more and more weight due to his junk food cravings and the voice. Finally, he went to see a therapist. But that didn’t work. Then, he went to see a psychic who told him to ask his mother about a “twin”. A twin? He wondered what the psychic meant by that. So, he went to his mother and asked about a twin. Then his mother broke down and told him that when she was pregnant that the ultra-sound had read that she was having twins. She and Steven’s father had prepared a baby-room for two children. Each time that she went for a checkup, two heartbeats were detected. But when she delivered, there was only one child, Steven. There was no other child. By this time, Steven was convinced that he was being haunted by the ghost of a dead twin.

After this, Steven began to talk to the voice in his head, thinking it was his “invisible twin”. The “invisible twin” made him eat and eat, until one day poor Steven could barely walk. His stomach was humongous. He became sick and fainted on the street. He was rushed to the hospital. The doctors were talking behind a curtain about his situation. He could only make out the words “food” and “parasite”. He figured that he must have worms or something, from all the excessive junk food eating, because he had heard the words parasite. When they returned, they prepped him for surgery. He asked to be awake during the procedure. The doctors began to perform the surgery upon Steven. As they opened his stomach one of the doctors yelled “I cannot believe this! It’s a parasitic twin!”  Steven looked up saw a gray twisted body, with long hair, long finger nails, and strange teeth fall to the floor. He knew that it was his unborn twin that had been living as a parasite inside of his body. That was the voice that commanded him and gave him the insatiable lust for junk food.
