Amongst the Silence

Amongst the Silence

A Poem by Amanda Trerotola

The crackling of the fireplace
snaps in my ears
as the fiery blaze
thaws my skin
cradling my worries,
at last
everything
goes
silent.

It is the small things- a.t.

A perfectly painted warn spot on my imagination. These are the best moments, the ones where silence is involved and the fire allows us to look inside. Great piece!!!

It really is ironic and adapt, how an open fire can have a calming effect on your spirit and soul. And makes you feel better, just by its heat, comfort and the reassurance it's their giving you warmth. Like you said the little things do help.

Natural welcoming warmth and sounds interrupted the silence, brings calmness to the spirit - adequately encapsulated in your sweet write - well done! :-)

The word tickles seems to mean provoking laughter. To dance means movement. Crackling relates to sound.

The crackling of the fireplace
snaps in my ear
as the fiery blaze
thaws my skin
cradling my worries,
at last
everything
goes
silent.

I think the message is clear despite any suggestions. The soothing sounds help one relax.

The poem paints a beautiful, soothing picture, almost a scene fit for meditation. Contemplating it could indeed put one firmly in the present moment.

This to me sounds like the comfort of falling asleep in front of a fire, coccooned in its physical and mental warmth, lulled yo sleep by the soft crackles and hypnotized into a long awaited sleep.
I would say more, but i've got a fire to build :)
Love it.
