I surrender to thee.

I surrender to thee.

"
Each morning, I surrender to thee,
oh  everlasting Clotho,
that you might spin me
like sisal fiber
on the thigh of an experienced spinner
and like clay
in the hands of a potter
mold me into the best shape I can be
and when hardships befall me
remind me
that pottery cannot be made without a kiln
and when I ruin my waters
may I remember that clay can be reworked
like a phoenix let me rise again

when the past failures break me
or when comfort overcome me
and  have no courage,
to move out of my mothers fireplace
please bring rain on the fire
to remind me that snakes will always find fireplaces
and that in Eden there will always be a snake
and it is the privilege of life
to wrestle and become
who I could be.

when I am injured in the battlefield
may I always find my way back to the fireplace
and nurse myself back to health
that can fight again

remind me to walk
the fine line between order and chaos
so that I can find safety
but also expand my territory
and find eudaimonia.
