Night

Night

A Poem by Aureus
"

Here's another for those who are alone.

"
Red gray sun,
Rising from the ashes of fate.
I am alone.

Withering like leaves unattended,
Broken like hearts unloved,
Shattered like glass on the dry winter floor.
It has always been this cold.

That was until I met you,
An angel of all angels,
Your face like sapphire,
Precious, beautiful.

Then we met and fate took over,
Seemingly in love with each other.
Well, at least I was.
You never were in love from the start.

Time passes and int'rest fades with it
You leave, your face now dark and empty,
Your arms and heart now belongs to another.
It has always been this cold.

Moonlight's gone,
Darkness lays me down to sleep.
I am still alone.

loved the vision of "withering like leaves unattended." a great write, and the emptiness at the end is incredible.
