Shake

Shake

A Poem by Lily E. Lin

I can feel heartbeats in my finger tips
drumming bits annihilating at the fringes
of foam developing, along lines of bodies
of water enveloping one another, independently
no more.  They shake, as if continents are
colliding, grinding into one another, the raw
edges breaking apart, the bits falling to pieces,
as it all shakes.  It all dissolves, into white foam.
