Running

Running

A Story by Mathias
"

Just some thoughts I wrote down from when I went running in the rain.

"

Running. Not from anything, nor to anything. Just.. running.  Always running.

Loving everything about it, I dash through rain, through sunshine, through forests and across concrete. I could never live without running, it has become so much more than just a way of exercise now; it's part of my life. Without it, I would not be complete. Giving it up would mean giving up part of myself.

People always ask me what is so special about running, why I'm so obsessed with it; and to be honest, I don't really know the answer. It just gives me a sensation of freedom and peace. Darting through unknown terrain or down the track, it's the ultimate feeling of freedom;  the feeling that you can go anywhere, that there are no limits. You're just.. free.

I always smile as I feel that familiar pain erupting from my side as I push myself; spreading through my stomach and up to my chest, bringing tears to my eyes. By now it has become a welcome feeling, almost desired. It's part of the running, and therefore, I love it. Even the aching muscles the following day is something I look forward to; serving as proof that the training was efficient. Nothing about running could ever be dreadful, not even the pain. Everything is just pure bliss when you run.

Always running. Will not, cannot, stop.

Ohh wow yeh, running for the sake of running. No Lindigo loppet, just running because you can, not running away from, anything, just running because you can ! :) The energy comes across very well in this piece :)

Ok, glad you actually followed my advice and lightened the tone a bit. Aaaaah........ really not anything I noticed you could improve upon.

I'm a runner too, so I really enjoyed this; I can definitely relate. It's not something that a lot of people enjoy doing, but I feel empty if I don't go for a run for a few days. Your spelling and grammar is also wonderful, which is refreshing to find here.
