Realizing Rain

Realizing Rain

A Poem by Kitten

I learned your secret –
the key to the puzzle that is you,
and for some reason I remain-
    despite the enigma dissolving in the morning sun;
It is not like me.

I have discovered,
through never-ending trial and error,
that I play the game well-
    better than most of our peers;
I play as well as you.

But when the gray light,
rain-kissed and dismally awake,
streaks through my half-open shades-
    like it did that morning when I learned the truth,
I give in to you.

Playing with structure. This is a first draft really, waiting for revisions: criticisms welcome!

This is certainly a very pretty structure and, if anything, looks lovely written out. (: I enjoyed the constrast between "playing the game" and knowing it well, yet still giving in at the end. This is very relatable, great job! :)

the delivery is smooth and the meaning has mystery, so it takes you for a ride. This poem is a fit-all-skins skeleton; it frames the scenario to precisely but allows an opening for you to pour your own truth and relation into its ambiguity.
